Conditions We See

Having worked in a variety of clinical settings, both within the hospital environment and the community, we have considerable experience in relation to the assessment, treatment, provision of equipment, provision of major and minor adaptations, and care planning for adults and older people with a range of medical and surgical problems, as outlined below. We also have experience working with people with mental health problems, particularly where difficulties arise as a result of other health and social problems. We have worked in multi-disciplinary settings and continue to liaise with other professionals including physiotherapists, case managers, district nurses, social workers and care managers, general practitioners, and consultants.

Conditions, and medical and surgical problems that we assess include:

  • Amputees - lower limbs
  • Amputees - upper limbs
  • Vascular conditions, including peripheral neuropathy / diabetic neuropathy
  • Older people, including those with multiple / complex medical problems
  • Falls management
  • Dementia care
  • Orthopaedic conditions including following surgical intervention, and / or an accident at work or a road traffic accident, including complex injuries
  • Neurological conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease
  • Cardiac conditions
  • Respiratory conditions, resulting in shortness of breath, for example
  • Visual impairments
  • Work related disorders, including repetitive strain injuries
  • Fatigue
  • Terminal illnesses and palliative care, including cancer, HIV and AIDS
